Alexander is a professor of Culture, Innovation, and Communication at the Open University of The Netherlands. His research focuses on the intersection of population ageing and technological change where it transcends conventional interventionist views by exploring how ageing, care, and health are co-constituted with technology. Alexander is also the founding chair of the Socio-gerontechnology Network and the chair of the societal advisory board of the EU’s Joint Programming Initiative “More Years, Better Lives”
